These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Calxo mobile app (“Calxo”). By using Calxo, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don’t use the app.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Calxo. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Your account
Calxo creates an account for you so your data can sync, and you can secure it by adding an email and password or by signing in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login details safe.
Subscriptions and billing
Calxo offers a paid subscription (“Calxo Premium”) that unlocks the app’s features. The subscription automatically renews and your payment method is charged at the then-current price until you cancel.
Calxo may offer a free trial. Its length and the price that follows it are shown in the app before you subscribe. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription renews automatically and your payment method is charged.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Payments, renewals, and refunds are handled by the app store and are subject to its policies; we generally cannot issue refunds directly.
Prices and features may change; we’ll tell you about material changes in advance where required.
Referral rewards
Calxo may offer a referral program. You get a personal referral code to share. When someone who is new to Calxo signs up, enters your code, and then makes their first paid subscription purchase, you earn one free month of Calxo Premium. The person who uses your code does not receive a discount or a reward.
Free months are granted as promotional access and have no cash value. They are not transferable, cannot be sold or exchanged, and are added when your current paid plan ends rather than extending it — a free month never runs at the same time as a subscription you are paying for. A free month does not change, pause, or cancel a subscription: your paid plan continues to renew unless you cancel it in your app store settings.
Rewards are earned only on genuine purchases. We may withhold or reverse a reward, and may suspend or end the program or your participation in it, if a purchase is refunded or charged back, if a code is used for self-referral or shared through spam or paid advertising, or if we reasonably believe the program is being abused. We may change or end the referral program at any time; months you have already been granted are not taken back except in the cases above.
Health and nutrition disclaimer
Calxo is a tracking and informational tool, not a medical device and not a provider of medical, nutritional, or professional advice. The calorie, macro, and other figures it shows are estimates.
Do not rely on Calxo for medical decisions. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making changes to your diet, exercise, fasting, or health routine — especially if you are pregnant or nursing, under 18, or have a medical condition or history of disordered eating.
AI features and accuracy
Calxo’s AI features estimate nutrition from photos and descriptions and generate coaching replies. These outputs can be inaccurate or incomplete. Use your own judgment and verify important information.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Calxo only for lawful, personal purposes, and not to misuse, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app or its systems.
Your content
You keep ownership of the data and photos you add to Calxo. You grant us the limited permission needed to store, process, and display that content in order to provide the service to you (including sending it to our AI provider for analysis).
Intellectual property
Calxo, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by law. These Terms don’t grant you any rights to our trademarks or content except to use the app as intended.
Third-party services
Calxo relies on third-party services such as cloud hosting, an AI provider, and the app stores. Your use of those services through Calxo may also be subject to their own terms.
Termination
You may stop using Calxo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service.
Disclaimers
Calxo is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don’t warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its estimates will be accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Calxo and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any health outcomes, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Calxo after changes means you accept them.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of your place of residence to the extent required, and otherwise by the laws applicable where the app is operated, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
